 Transitioning into CCR

We finished!!!!! We finally finished filming and the great thing is we already edited half of the project so were not far behind as we just need to film the cleaning up part and also just add the credits with the title. Also speaking of the title we weren't really sure where we're gong t place it as we want tit to fit perfectly with the flow of the film. At first, we wanted to put it at the end since our film has a cliffhanger we can just put the title right there but after further discussions with Mrs.Stocklosa she thought it will be better to put the title right before we wake up in the morning from the phone since its nice and sunny and it gives visual representation of what the film is about. 

But before having tat discussion we brought up how we had the idea during the filming process how we wanted to put the scene  in the begining when it shows the establishing shot of it turning night from day and then above the house we put the tittle as the character is walking into the house. We think that's also a really cool idea but when we edit the rest of the opening we're going to try both and just see which ones better. Transitioning into the ccr Javi and I decided to change the orginal plan and create a script nd do a podcast with just our voices and also do a blog of us showing the BTS of the house and where everything was filmed while answering the questions.

Week 7 Blog

 Update on Filming 

So this is an update on what our filming schedule is looking like.. So after our successful first day of filming we needed to get props for the second half of the film meaning all of the cups and all the extra characters that will be in the opening. We also ordered stuff on amazon to be in the film but unfortunately 2 of our partners had to work all weekend so we couldn’t film but we had to wait for the props that we bought to arrive also so it really didn’t affect us in any way. We finished the first half of editing adding all the freeze frame shots and all the cool editing and tricks we wanted to add to it in the original plan.

We’re running a little behind as we like but that’s why we text in our group chat that we have and we like to exit together to drop and throw big ideas in the air to help our editing be faster but more efficient. Also when we film we film all day as in we take out time with our filming and we get it all done in half a day. We believe this is the best idea as through your the entire filming process we can change some shots because ideas come through our head. We are going to be done filming by this weekend also editing by this week. 

Week 7 Blog

 Filming day!!

finally, last night was our first filming day, and it went amazing!!! we went on a call a few hours before everybody came over to discuss the final planning so when we get to the house, we set up and film and attack the plan. We had a few changes to the project as in the original plan. The plan was to have a party and have a bunch of people over. But the plan changed by having the same plot twist at the end with the whole cleaning up situation but instead we switched up filming all of the characters before the party, as in setting it up and introducing the characters. we felt like this was the best idea as in we had no other people to come over as everybody is out of town for spring break so we quickly had to create a different plan, but with the same idea.

it was an amazing first day of filming as we already got half the filming done with the whole, introducing the characters and applying all the angles in shots that we wanted to do in the original plan. with the cleaning part on the second part of the film, that is where we want to execute all of what we learn this year in ace media class, and just apply all the shots, angles, and sounds. In the the first half of the film it’s more of just introducing the characters so we didn’t really apply everything that we know into the first half of the film as much as we are going to do in the second half of the film but we still I don’t really cool shots that we think the audience would like in the first half of the film.

so overall, we had a really great filming day and we added the new creative ideas that we originally didn’t want to do but turns out they were actually really good shots and we believe we transitioned really well from the original plan because we had some difficulties executing it as we couldn’t get extra characters inside the film, which was in the original idea. I can’t wait to film the second part of the film as that’s probably going to be the funnest part and the part where it will show the audience what the whole point of the intro is about

Week 7 blog(CCR)

 CCR Creation 

As we start transition to the final pieces to our filming and we start discussing our CRR, So what I was thinking is that I can partner with Javier and help each other with the CCR as in previous blogs I was discussing different techniques on how to address the 4 questions that were assigned to us. For example in the sample that Mrs. Stoklosa showed us in class and one of the examples was a person filming the girl and her walking around and talking about the questions while its being hand held from another person. So what I was thinking was Javi and I help each other film each other while one id doing thr questions, kind of like a youtube video. 

An example of what it will look like when we film the CCR as we will help each other film but instead it will be hand held and there will be a lot of tracking shots as I want the video to be really active and really engaging with audience. 

Also in my previous blogs when I talked about how I want to pursue these questions and for one the second one I wanted to do a podcast because we can be ourselves in it and also add some of our humor into it. We will have a desk withy headphones and mics and we will have the phone on a tripod filming the both of us. This includes Javier by him interviewing me and me answering the questions. 

This is exactly how the podcast will look like as we will setup a tripod and film from there. We will also be wearing headphones because in a podcast we feel like that's the most important piece in this whole process and also we will setup fake mics in front of us. 

Blog post week 6

 Different method we are using

So remember when in my latest blogs i talked about how we’re going to communicate with each other and be more organized in a way by using a group chat on the social media platform snapchat. We were talking about it on Wednesday and we were thinking if there was an easier approach to this and if there was a method that we could use that would help us be more efficient and more organized in that matter. Also everyday we are gaining new ideas and new creativity that we can put into this opening film because we want this to be the best piece anyone has ever seen.

So we decided to use a google calendar that will allow us to share all information that we want to communicate with each other and the whole group will have access to this calendar. For example if we need someone to bring something or wear a specific outfit for a part that we have to film for out opening we just have to write there name and what to bring or what to wear We feel like this will be the best wha to get things done faster but gets things faster in a efficient way. 

Blog Post week 6

 Inside where we're filming

Hey, im back with another update for you! So in previous blogs that I've done, I have mentioned where the opening scene will take place I contributed visual images of the house we're filming at but I've never shown you the specific areas within the house that we will be filming in. 

So this is my media room where I love to watch my movies and it's an overall relaxing chill place to be in but in this room what you see is in the corners you see what looks like a white stick which are ed lights that connect to an app on your phone via Bluetooth and it changes colors within the sound around it and also shows different color patterns and overall it's a really cool feature as it will be perfect for our "party".

This is my family room and this is where all the fun happens when it comes to our opening as most of the shots will mostly be shot in this room. It involves a pool table and a tv so it's a chill place to hang and we thought my house would be the best fit as I have most items that most parties have. 

This is my backyard and we just finished renovating it changing the floor and all the beautiful flowers in the back, We also changed all the colors as you can see it's black on the walls. I also picked to film here as we thought as a group that we could shoot some real cool shots here also the pool has led lights in them so they change colors which will also match the vibe and atmosphere of what we're trying to film.

Last but not least this is my kitchen where not a lot will be shot here but just people and extra side characters will be here having a normal conversation with a cup in their hand and we could just shoot them talking. In the future I will have to think of more creative shots to do in this set because I feel like more could be done here.

Decided Roles in the opening

Why are roles important in film?


Roles play a massive factor when it comes to filming, They help to define the characters, drive the plot, and create emotional connections with the viewers. Each character in a movie has a set of goals that they want to accomplish and it helps the narrative to the theme of the story that's being told. They serve as a visual to the audience as they can relate to the characters and feel their emotion on another level.








What are the final roles for your group?
So today in Mrs. Stoklosa's class she gave us 5 minutes to discuss before we had to sit down and finish our blogs. So we took advantage of this time to really finalize the planning phase, so what we discussed was what each of us was going to do as before we had to switch it up because everyone was so busy with their normal lives and busy with out-of-school activities. So Javier will be in charge of the editing because we feel from past projects that he is the best at what he does! But that doesn't mean the rest of us are just going to let him edit and not offer our teammate help...OF COURSE NOTT!!! We as a team will provide him with input that we feel will be the best outcome of the project.


Then Enrique will be the man behind the camera because he is the one that created all the shots in our storyboard and he feels very confident with the techniques he has learned all year in Aice Media AS level that he will be the best man for the job. Then to conclude Juan and I will be the main character in the film as in we're all going to be characters but not as big of a role as Juan and I are. For example, Enrique and Javi will be considering side characters as most of the film will be filmed on Juan and me considering that we're brothers in this opening and that's why we are getting most of the spotlight.

 Further Discussions 

Why is planning so important?
Planning for a project involves a series of activities aimed at defining the goals, objectives, and activities necessary to achieve them. For example, you have to define the project's meaning and break it down(solving goals, objectives, and overall plan. Develop a project plan, this is a detailed plan that outlines the activities and will direct the whole opening Assign roles and responsibilities, it's important to identify who will be responsible for each activity Developing a communication plan, while communication is crucial for the success of the project. See if there are any issues or obstacles that you're going to face in the project.

In summary, project planning is an essential process that requires careful consideration of all the elements that will contribute to the success of the project. It's a process that requires regular consistent monitoring as anything can go wrong in the project and to make sure the idea and production are still on track. So this is why we as a group are taking the initiative of taking a close eye on the process through the entire making of our opening scene.

 Shooting Schedule 

What are your plans for where 

and where you're going to shoot?

As we start filming this week and we are ready to show the creative ideas that we have been making throughout the whole behind the scene process. We’re really excited to portrait what we have to offer and what we want to show the world but to continue with that here are some things we want to accomplish while filming and when we're filming. 

• Get at least our first set done as we want to get the set design and the atmosphere ready to film at least the first 30 seconds of the opening. 
• Put all of the prop creation that I've discussed in past blogs and put them in the right place at the right time so when we shoot it makes the set design a lot better and more organized. 
• Include all the shots and angles that we used and discussed as a group and put it into our opening including shots like "Freeze shots, establishing shots, extreme close-up shots,,, etc" 
• We also weren't to start editing in the next few weeks and we want to edit in parts for example we want to at least put the freeze shots as an example and get that over with instead of waiting to film the whole project and then editing the whole thing because we feel like it will take to long.

In conclusion, we want to start filming at least 2-3 times a week whether it’s after school or at night. Also on the weekend if everyone is free we want to film as much and take advantage of the alpine of time we have considering we have no school or after school activities to interfere with our schedule.

 Plans that were discussed

In Mrs.Stoklosa's class today on 3/9/2, We had a chance to actually come together as a  group and review other people's work and see there blog to see how we can compare our blog and production process to there's. We had to answer questions from what we analyzed from the 4 examples that were being shown and we thought why not just discuss the strategies and process that they were doing for there opening and somehow make it work for our opening. So we want to start filming by next week as our planning and production planning is starting to come along and just wrapping it up.

We want to film as many times a week as we can but it's hard because everyone plays a sport or has to study for there academics so we cant film as much as we can with our own personal life in the way. But for now we set a schedule to film at lest 2 times in the week and if we're free on the weekends since we will have more time with school out of the way. So overall we want to transfer the knowledge we learned today that were in the examples of he blogs we saw and put it in our blogs and production in the opening.

Issues during the project 

Any issues or obstacles that your group has faced?

 during our project, we overcame some issues with the lighting in the set design. to go further in-depth, we originally wanted to introduce the characters by using a FreezeFrame shot and putting their nickname right below their name. The reasoning behind this is that we believe that at the time that putting personalities on the different characters in the film would allow the audience to connect and have an emotional connection with the character to better understand the purpose of the storyline.

so we wanted to use the lighting scheme by using colors that we have learned previously in class to match the description and personalities of the characters in that shot. But after further discussion, and Going over it with Mrs. Stocklosa snd we just decided to use the lighting scheme to match the personalities of the character instead of just putting a nickname. we believe that it will be less cheesy. If we just put the ladies who came over the characters to match the scenario of the characters with the scene that we are trying to accomplish.

but besides that we never really came over an obstacle or issue during a project . Besides, when our school had some issues with students that didn’t allow us as a group to come into class and discuss further. This kind of hurts us because inside the school we feel like if we talk as a group, we are more focused and can put way more creativity and focus into what we want to accomplish. but overall we are doing great and never really had any problems with anything.

Blog post week 4

 CCR reflection 

Yesterday in class we had a discussion about what we're going to write our ccr on. Going through the lesson when talking about ccr, so many ideas came to my head on how I want to well execute this and how I put creativity that I've done in the past and put it in these reflection questions. 

Some ideas that came to my head about how I want to answer the questions are?

1.  An interview that allows me to put some humor and comedy into that piece by also answering all the 4 questions
   
   
   

1. I could also do a podcast with me videoing a real podcast room with headphones and microphones and then answer the questions 

1. talk to the people like posting a vid on youtube or any platform of social media

How will I use this to answer my questions?

So using these ideas that came up in my head during what Mrs.Stoklosa was explaining to the class about the ccr, I want to add my personality to it because I feel like being yourself allows you to express yourself better which allows you to answer the question more In-depth and just more professional. So with my personally being energetic and funny I want to apply that aspect to whatever kind of set I'm doing to answer the 4 questions. I want to answer the first 2 questions by using an interview considering that the first 2 questions are mostly based on the target audience and the target market. 

I just feel like using this tactic would be best when answering those types of questions because I will be I. front of an audience and answering the questions will allow me to see the people and really let them intake the information that I'm saying. The other 2 questions are mostly based on the technology you will use and the filming tactics that will be placed, I would love to do a podcast with that because I think podcasts are super fun to use and are just a super creative way to get your information out therre.

Blog week 4

 The Production Process 

As we wrap up the planning portion of the project we are starting to transition to the filming aspect of it. During our planning, we came across some issues including where we would shoot it as we wanted it to relate and connect to the genre we were filming. We also had a problem coming across how we want to introduce our characters and how we want the audience to have an emotional connection with the characters as the characters play a significant factor in the storyline of the opening. 

During and outside of class we as a group have discussed many things within our plan(where the opening will be filed, what personalities the characters will have, what props will be used..etc) We as a group are putting everything we can into this because we believe that we can succeed and make this opening amazing considering our planning has been efficient and reliable.

But other than that we are ready to begin filming our opening and have a strong full mindset about what we want to achieve as a group and what we want to put into this opening. Hopefully, everything goes well and smoothly and as long as we stick to our creative, strong plan and mindset we will do amazing.
